My name is Belle Chapman. Photographer, wife, adventurer, storyteller and this is my tribe. I hope this page will explain my passion without putting you to sleep haha. I’m a firm believer that chocolate, nature and laughter are always a good idea. You may find me frequenting our local op shops and hunting for vintage threads, or running along the bush cutting pampas or wild grass and flowers for my studio.
I’m a sucker for natural light, and creating real, authentic moments rather than posed, forced photos. I love telling stories through my work. My approach combines documentary and lifestyle into a beautiful, organic hybrid that is honest, emotive and raw. No posed imagery - I go for the real thing and the in-between moments
How did I get here…
Like most female photographers I decided I would give up work and work from home as a photographer when I had my first child in 2013. I, however, have loved photography since I undertook photography as a class in high school. I got to develop my own images in a dark room and this intrigued me. But life took over and from there, I’m self taught. I love to chase the light and learn new techniques everyday. My friends call me a doer. “She just does things. She studies things until she either learns something new she enjoys to do, or she moves onto something else. She will never let you down because she is always evolving!” I quickly realised I am always happy but never content… I think that’s why I love this industry there is no end to what you can learn and that excites me.

I lost my father at the age of 5 to the big C, he was 36 years old. Losing my Dad and growing up in a day where we didn’t have mobile phones or at least not digital ones with cameras, means I have limited images of him (especially looking healthy). This drives my passion every day to not only capture you as a family but to cement the love and adoration you feel for each other in a memory you can keep for life to hand down to your children when the time comes. In the long run, the magic we create is for your kids and grand-kids. Capturing people’s love feeds my soul, and seeing your reaction to how loved and beautiful you are fills my heart!
The favorite part of my job is that I get to work with families to capture their honest, authentic, messy, beautiful love for one another! Yes, we’ll set some shots up and tweak things to make you look amazing, but my number one goal is that you walk away with real and genuine photos that truly capture this season in your family life. The beautiful part of my job is that families are constantly growing and changing, and I get to capture those incredible moments in time for you to hold on to - Because they go by so fast!
During the session we’ll do a little bit of everything - Unlike stuffy studio portraits where you’re pulling your hair out trying to get your kids to sit still or smile on cue, my portraits are organic and natural. We’ll get you interacting, going on adventures, playing games and having a blast! In my opinion, that’s the best way to have a photo shoot!
